The AHRI/SANTHE Health Hack brought together 65 early-career researchers, clinicians, engineers, and public health professionals in Durban, South Africa. This research-focused hackathon tackled urgent challenges in infectious disease across KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and the continent. Teams worked on a range of issues, from HIV medication adherence, to diarrhea epidemiology in children, to the spread of TB in long clinic queues, collaborating across disciplines to develop bold, data-driven solutions for infectious disease control.
