GrandHack 2026 Tracks

Trauma and Rehabilitation

Every year, millions of people experience injuries or health conditions that change how they move, live, and connect with others. Around 2.4 billion people worldwide are living with conditions that could benefit from rehabilitation, yet many still lack access to proper care and support. This track invites innovators to design practical, human-centered solutions that help people recover and regain independence. From adaptive therapy tools and smart prosthetics to virtual rehab programs and home-based recovery systems, participants can explore new ways to make rehabilitation more accessible and continuous. The goal is to restore mobility, confidence, and quality of life for people on their journey to healing.

Virtual Diagnostic Interfaces

Accurate and timely diagnosis can make the difference between recovery and complication, yet millions still face long waits, limited access, or errors in the process. Studies estimate that diagnostic errors affect about one in twenty adults each year in outpatient settings. This track challenges innovators to develop connected, easy-to-use diagnostic tools that bring clarity and speed to care. From Al-powered triage systems and virtual imaging platforms to symptom-checking interfaces and telehealth dashboards, participants can create technologies that help providers make faster and more confident decisions. The goal is to make diagnosis more accurate, accessible, and human for everyone.

Portable Health

Access to care should not depend on where someone lives, yet geography remains one of the biggest barriers to healthcare. The World Health Organization estimates that around 4.5 billion people, more than half of the global population, lack access to essential health services, with rural and remote communities most affected. This track calls on innovators to design portable and connected health solutions that bring care to people wherever they are. From handheld diagnostics and smart sensors to smartphone-linked monitors and mobile clinics, portable health technologies can help detect illness earlier and make care more continuous. The goal is to make healthcare mobile, inclusive, and within reach for everyone.

BeyondHack is month-long accelerator for teams who are seeking to innovate within the healthcare ecosystem. Preference is given to teams who participated in a previous hack through MIT Hacking Medicine and want to continue to take their ventures to the next level with the specialized guidance of judges, mentors, and workshops. Teams should be pursuing their venture full-time and have made significant strides in their venture before participating in this accelerator.
