1) Do I need to have a team to participate?
Not at all! Team formation will take place during the Saturday morning. But if you already have a team, great!
2) What is my role at this Hackathon?
Healthcare professionals : You’re reporting from the trenches, you bring the problems, in-depth experience, and most importantly, empathy with a patient’s experience.
Engineers/Developers : You make ideas become reality. Healthcare Hackathons are a way for you to solve real problems and impact people’s health.
Designers : You understand how to create interactions and experiences that truly make a solution usable. Meeting the needs of Healthcare’s multiple stakeholders is your forte.
Business People/Entrepreneurs : Healthcare is a challenging business, with a complex network of stakeholders. You help translate innovation into viable ventures, and ensure that the solution is economically sustainable.
Interested Human : You are part of the healthcare system. Whether as a patient/user, a caregiver, or concerned family/friend, you’ve had experiences that are valuable insights. You may even bring the pain point that forms the core of a solution!
3) Are participants able to leave the premises at night to rest at home?
Absolutely, participants can definitely leave the premises to go home and rest. For those who want to keep working on their “hack”, dinner is provided as a courtesy, and the event premises will be available overnight.
